Colief and gaviscon

My nearly 10 week old has reflux and colic (I think).
We've started him on colief and just changed to co lactase so we don't need to wait 30 minutes to give him a feed.

He was on gaviscon and it helped his reflux tremendously....but he went constipated! I think the colief has helped him move things along.

My question is has anyone given gaviscon and colief or co lactose together?

Thanks

Hi all,

im currently using Colife for my 2 week old baby. The instructions are so confusing.

my question is, it says to store the drops in the fridge for minimum of 4hrs then use within 12. So does that mean I put them in the fridge for 4hrs, then take them out for the feed. Then I have to use them within 12 hours and then I have to throw them away? or can I just use them as an when needed?

so confusing!! Thanks in advance.

No idea on Colief sorry. My DSIL had success with adding Dentinox to the bottles.

We had very similar always used Colief and reflux became awful, projectile vom at first burp on the feed etc. We were told to come off Colief when using Gaviscon, I’m pretty sure that Colief is suggested up until 3/4 months anyway so we were happy to go cold turkey. The constipation will pass but we struggled with this too.. we gave only 1 sachet per feed and you could also try giving max 10ml of boiled cooled water between a 1/2 of babies feeds and this will help. We did this from young as baby always struggled with constipation. :)

Please note this was recommend to us by our doctor, I am no medical professional!

I’m not sure we found that confusing too but we personally used to drops at the time making bottle and waited half an hour and they worked the same :)

Not quite the same but we used infacol alongside the gaviscon, gaviscon made DTs constipated and the infacol the opposite so they balanced each other out.

You are quoting the instructions for making formula in advance I.e. add 2 drops to the warm formula and then leave in the fridge for at least 4 hours and discard the formula within 12 hours.

You can also add 4 drops to the formula, wait 30 minutes (out of the fridge) and then feed it to your child.
