Alternatives to screen time for 7 year old

My DS (age 7) is in the habit of asking for screen time when he gets in from school and at weekends. I want to encourage him to do other activities, please does anyone have any suggestions as to successful alternatives I can present? He seems to have lost interest in everything else which is I guess because of the technology!

I think it’s important he engages with other activities for his concentration levels etc.

Ideally, I’d like to restrict screen time to weekends (1 or 2 hours) and perhaps one day in the week?

As long as he has lots of toys to choose from then he's old enough to amuse himself and choose how to do this. Removing the tech will mean he'll have to come up with something. Don't be afraid of letting him be bored.

Does he like Lego? Building following instructions good concentration
My 7yo way too into games try give him switch weekend only but now find he looking at games on you tube (put you tube lock on TV he found it via sky)
Actually would prefer him playing the game himself.
He at after school until 5.30/6 so thankful for that as at home just wants switch games.

Thank you, yes that’s very true. I will let him be bored more often and work on his skills to entertain himself with his many toys!

Thank you, yes he does like Lego! I’ve taken out a subscription to brickbox where you can borrow different Lego sets to build. Thank you for reminding me this is very good for building concentration!
