Little boy with ADHD fully potty training

Hiya,
I have a little who has suspected ADHD
he’s been half way potty trained (for example he can use the toliet to pee during the day) but at night he still wears nappies incase he has any bowel movements due to being on medication has he’s struggling with letting go ( going for a poo in the toliet). However that’s a separate issue
my little boys still soils through the nappy at night because he’s fast asleep so when it comes to him waking up there’s always a massive wet patch dispite him wearing a nappy.
how can I prevent the went patches at night?
we have arrived to wake him up to go to the toliet for a pee however that’s very hit and miss.
I cannot just stop using the nappy’s and above he has medication to help with his bowel movement.
im just running out of ideas.

I haven't been in your situation but I remember friends sometimes putting 2 nappies on at once to stop night time leakage....probably for younger children though...I think you can also get padded washable pants for potty training I wonder if you could put them over the nappy to absorb leaks...you can find them on some cloth nappy sites.
Or a disposable mat on the sheet at night?
It sounds tough xx

I have the water proof covers to protect the mattress.
i just don’t understand where it all comes from especially if he’s going to a wee before bed xx

Taking him for a wee before you go to bed is the only way of reducing the amount of wee overnight really.

Try to make sure he drinks plenty earlier in the day and then don’t give him drinks a couple of hours before bed. Obviously if he’s thirsty let him have a drink, but just give a small amount of water and don’t offer drinks otherwise.

Have you got the right size nappy? Or you could try a nappy with bigger pull up pants over the top?

He gets reduce drink last drink is at 4:30-5pm when he comes home from after school club.
he goes to bed for 6:30-7pm
his nappies fit he’s in size 8 at the moment. I’ve tried the nappies with the puppy tabs and the nappy’s that are pull ups, the designed night time nappy’s but all no good
There plenty of room but some how he just wees that much during the night.

it’s definitely a hard one

I think waking him up to go for a wee just before you go to bed is the only option then.. that’s what we have to do to stop my DS nappy leaking.

Could you put down puppy pads or incontinence pads on his bed?

It would save the extra washing at least.
