Baby led weaning

Looking for some advice as we will be weaning our baby when they hit 6 months. With the baby led weaning option do you give the baby a few different foods at once (say omelette strip, cooked carrot strip and a piece of broccoli). Or is it just one food per meal like a piece of carrot? If anyone has any other advice on weaning in general that would be appreciated!

Baby led weaning shouldn't be different from traditional/puree weaning in that you still should only introduce one new food at a time to determine allergens.

Outdated advice!
Obviously introduce the major allergens (e.g. nuts, wheat, dairy) one at a time, but with other stuff just however you like!

It doesn’t really matter from what I remember as the point of it is for them to suck/lick/try foods and only start swallowing in their own time.

We read the book Baby Led Weaning and followed it. Great ideas. Also River Cottage Baby and Toddler cookbook has easy adaptations of family meals that include babies.

I don’t think it matters too much initially when they are just trying different things. Try to adapt things you have already cooked for yourself eg if dinner includes potatoes, carrots and broccoli you can give some of each (cut and cooked appropriately) but you don’t need to set out to cook 3 separate things for their meal.

Agree that Solid Starts is great.

I'd give a few different things from what you're eating. Just remember to avoid too much salt, and no honey.

I've always gave a little bit of a few different things with both of mine when doing baby led weaning, just be prepared for them not to eat much of it to begin with so just give a small amount. Also it's recommended just to give one allergen food every couple of days so like egg one day then nothing else that could potentially be an allergen until a couple of days later I suppose just incase they do have a reaction your more likely to know what has caused it.

We loved Joe Wicks wean in 15. It told us exactly what to make and when.
