How to make friends for DD outside of school

How can I make my daughter some friends outside of school? I don’t have any friends with children her age, she has siblings but they don’t want to play with her and we live on a road with no other children. Whilst she has friends in school it’s not extended outside of school and I would specifically like to find friends for her away from just school friends anyway. Has anyone used apps like peanut etc for older kids? Heard they are mainly aimed at new mums or pregnant mums so has anyone got experience using them with older kids?

So why not ask her who she would like you to invite over to play ?

Beavers.

Great for making friends and boosting confidence and learning life skills.

Although waiting lists can be long.

Hi, I hear you. I made a good friend just before covid on bumble bff. Seemed like I had lots of friends but schedules never aligned and I just wanted to meet someone who would like to have a tea with while kids play every now and again. It's a bit weird going on bumble bff or peanut while married, but I made some great friends outside of work/school circles.

She’s 6 and doesn’t do any clubs at the moment, I guess I was thinking clubs may be the same as school where she makes friends but it doesn’t extend out of them? She has siblings but they never want to play with her so that’s what it’s for really so can have play dates etc

Pony Club is amazing for making friends. My daughter (13) has a huge circle of friends from her yard. They grew up together since starting around your daughter's age 🐴

I'd suggest Brownies - she needs to be 7 but often there is a waiting list. This is really good of you want a girl only environment and a big range of activities from the stereotype of craft and cooking to outdoor skills and adventures. Beavers or Cubs are mixed, often although not always with a higher proportion of boys than girls. They do a similar range of activities but maybe less variety as more heavily focused on outdoor skills - my son's are on Cubs and they do a lot of running around games. Might be worth trying both and seeing which she likes. Both are usually much cheaper than other clubs as they are run by volunteer leaders.
