Has anyone tried cranial osteopathy?

I'm desperate now. I have a 2 month old, born by emergency section, who was out within minutes of me being put to sleep so I'm told.
My issue is my baby does not sleep. At all. Doesn't even nap. I'm tearing my hair out day after day night after night because all she does is scream. I've been to the drs with her about reflux, she has a lot of wind and colic drops sort of help but not really. I honestly can't tell because her behaviour doesn't change. I've slept on the sofa for the majority of her 10 weeks and I can't keep doing this.
I've been recommended cranial osteopathy to see if it might help, hence why I mentioned her birth as I've been told a traumatic entrance can cause some problems. I'm at my absolute wits end and we've decided to try the initial consultation and 1st treatment. I just wondered if anyone else had any experience & if it made any difference? Thanks

My daughter was breech and so she had a really flat head which would only go to one side and the midwife told me it would benefit her so we went. They were amazing and she gained all the movement in her neck, I was nervous at first especially as she was only a matter of weeks old but we went somewhere that specialised in babies and the improvement was amazing. I am not sure what would have happened or how her neck and head would have improved without.

I took DS and I found it a positive experience after traumatic birth. He still didn't sleep well though. He's 12 now and was diagnosed autistic which is probably why the sleep issues.

I'd say it is worth a shot but try not to get your hopes up too much. I think it might help a bit and it'll help you to feel you're doing something positive.

It will pass, whatever the cause eventually. Cliché but true.

We used cranial osteopathy for torticollis as another poster mentioned and it really worked within a couple sessions. I’m not sure about for your baby’s issues. Have you tried a baby massage course? That would work better for wind etc and help calm

We tried it on ours, who sounds identical to yours, and I'm sorry to say it didn't work, neither did baby massage, slings, diet changes etc.

Unfortunately she remained this way until around 2 when she finally started sleeping longer, but still not without being pretty much attached to me until closer to 4.

I used it because my baby never stopped screaming. He wouldn’t sleep and he just cried, and cried and cried. I was also having lots of problems breast feeding him and a lactation consultant told me that seeing a cranial osteopath would possibly help.

So I took her advice and blimey, it changed my life!! My baby was 4 months old when I first went.

I saw a huge difference after just the first session and then he only needed two more.

It was like witchcraft watching her work her magic.

I’m the biggest sceptic going but my desperation made me go and she was phenomenal!

I had a completely different baby afterwards and I always recommend cranio-osteopathy to mothers who have incredibly unsettled babies who never stop crying.

As an aside, mine was born via emergency section too and these babies can have a lot of muscle and nerve issues as a result of their birth (that cause pain to the baby) that cranio-osteopaths can help with.

We did for DS and had a positive outcome for repeated ear infections resulting in burst ear drums, he never got another one after cranial treatment. It doesn’t work for everyone or every ailment, it’s one of those things you need to give a go but don’t pin all your hopes on.

We tried it for my non sleeping, grumpy crying 2nd baby. For 2 days after he would sleep brilliantly which I took as a win! We went for about 6 sessions after which sleeping had settled. Whether the longer term change was a result of the cranial osteopathy or not I can't say but I'd still say it was worth it.

I took mine when he was about 6 months old. He had an assisted birth, eventually born with forceps and was quite bruised from them.

He used to wake very frequently. After the first session, he slept for 6 hours which was the longest he'd ever gone. Each night after that got progressively worse, but not back to how bad he'd been originally. Then we had weekly sessions which followed the. same pattern, first night very good and the following ones getting slightly worse. But each week was better than the previous one.

We had quite a few sessions (I think maybe 6-10) until the improvement was permanent. We also did a quarterly 'maintenance' session until he was about two.

I'd definitely recommend it Op, it saved me!!

Thanks for your experiences everyone. I'm prepared for it not to work, but I'll spend the £65 to give it a go rather than wonder what if. She hasn't had a nap at all today since waking at 7am, just cried and cried. How she hasn't passed out yet from exhaustion I have no idea 🤦‍♀️
