Toddler sleep problems

DS has been a good sleeper until he turned about 18 months.
Now he is waking up around 3 am every night screaming requesting a drink and doesn't stop unless we bring him to our bed. He only sleeps on DH on a specific position and is very restless. We are both miserable because he screams and moves several times until about 5 pm when he finally settles down. Our backs and arms are broken and needless to say we are struggling at work due to sleep deprivation. I would appreciate any advice / support as I'm running out of mental and physical resources to deal with this.

Teething? Have you tried giving calpol and resettling in his own cot? Our daughter had molars come through around this age, it was a nightmare. Alternatively could he be cold? Temp is at its lowest around 3/4am.

I was going to ask if he's too cold too. I used to put a fleece blanket between the mattress and the sheet for DD as she liked being toasty.

Another thing to try is adding in more protein during the day. Like maybe cheese on toast as a snack?

Agree with trying Calpol. If those don't work, you may need the No Cry Sleep Solution for Toddlers & Preschoolers.
