Bottle refusal/dummy refusal

Hi,

Just looking for some help/tips.

My 4 months old will not take a bottle. I have tried every bottle. She also will not take a dummy. I have tried every dummy.

She breastfeeds very well but at night she will feed on/off again constantly. Also I can tell at times it's just a comfort and not a feed. She hates the car so possibly will settle better if she had a dummy?

Any help/tips. She will just bite or push out bottle or dummy.

Thanks

This was my daughter. She took a bottle at 6 months, the first bottle we tried actually which was MAM. It's very frustrating but keep trying x

Forget the bottle and try with a spouted cup when she’s 5-6 months. DS1 wouldn’t take a bottle but was confident with a cup by 7/8 months.

Id sleep train over giving a dummy at this stage. Instead of getting a boob out all night you’ll be popping a dummy in all night. She’s feeding on/off all night because it’s a sleep association as opposed to being hungry every hour.

One of mine was like this. We had to wait until she was the age to take a soft spouted cup. She never took a dummy.

I wanted my kids to have a dummy to help settle themselves and buy that bit of extra time when needed. They were having none of it! I think you just need to accept it's not happening. 4 months is still so little and it really doesn't last for long, although it seems like it at the time!

Thanks for the responses! My older boy was the same but I ended up having to feed him for 18 months which was very difficult as I returned to work at 9 months meaning he had to go long stretches without feeding.

Was hoping for a miracle cure but understand there is none!
