Buggy advice

Searching for a unicorn buggy!
I need a lightweight enough (10kg max, ideally less) buggy suitable for over 3 years.
Needs to be easy enough to put up or down as I also have a newborn in a sling

Needs to be able to go up curbs whilst 3 year old is in it (my bugaboo bee failed at this!)

Needs to sit pretty much in the upright position or my toddler refuses to go in it (bonus if it does recline also though for those occasional naps)

Needs to have just one handle so I can use it one handed for when I start using it with my youngest and need to hold to oldest ones hand so umbrella style ones are no good)

Please tell me something like that exists! 🙏🙏🙏

Uppababy Cruz or Vista would probably work

Baby jogger city mini?

SelinaThor · 26/12/2023 13:40

Thanks we did try this one first but it's huge and also doesn't sit upright so toddler refused to even try it!

Thank you, just had a look but sadly very out of our price range!

Mountain buggy swift would do all that except that it is not totally upright. I think there are (unofficial) people who make straps to make it sit straighter though, so might be worth a look.

The Vista is over 12kg and the Cruz is over 11kg so neither of them would work. BJCM is 9.4kg so just light enough but the seat is quite slouchy. I suspect getting a heavier child over kerbs would be an issue with most lightweight buggies tbh. I like the Yoyo for my older toddler but it can be hard getting up kerbs (though it just needs an extra push) - we have similar issues with the Bee so if that's not working for you then I think the Yoyo wouldn't (and the seat is slouchier too).

Baby jogger city tour is great, very light, large seat so great for older toddlers, easy fold.

Joules Aer?

We just bought the new Uppababy Minu v2. Its a travel version of the Vista and Cruz. One handlebar, one handed fold, weighs 7kg and allegedly can be used up to 22kg but the seat is quite narrow and the bar is tight so might depend on how chunky your DC is as to how far it gets them past 3yrs? It is ok on raised kerbs but only if you tilt onto the back wheels - it has quite small wheels - but i think thats quite common with all travel buggy styles? I find it fine on lowered kerbs. I personally didnt like how the yoyo folds as you need two hands.

Maxi Cosi Lara2. Very upright, my children have all been the same and only like upright buggies. Just as an aside you can buy straps from Etsy that help buggies stay more upright, I just them for when I have a Phil and Ted's dot as it gave the child in the second seat more room but also improved the seating position for the front child. My sister has used them on her mountain buggy as well

The Hauck Colibri is cheap, cheerful, good up and down kerbs, lightweight and one of the easiest prams to control one handed we've ever had!

Joolz aer or bugaboo butterfly could work

bettynutkins · 26/12/2023 15:30

Another vote for joolz aer. It's fantastic
