when you fold the buggy up? Do they have to come off first?

usually

yes - but if you get a new one the connectors are really good and they just push in and off.

when you are pushing the buggy and don't need to use the buggyboard, it comes with a strap which you loop over a handle which lifts it out of the way.

Which buggy board do you have?

back ache also happens with buggy boards

(at least it does for me... I WONT use one anymore EVER)

NoBiggy · 16/03/2008 09:48

nannyL, that's always been why I've never bought one, the buggy shortens my stride anyway.

Going on holiday, no car with 2 DDs, 21 months and 4 years. So I'm considering a Volo and buggyboard.

But sounds like it won't be as useful or convenient as I would like.

no... prob not

also im short which i think makes it worse

havent used a buggy board many times maybe 4 or 5) but enough to knao i will NEVER use one again...

either I take a double buggy OR eldest walks!

amidaiwish · 16/03/2008 10:02

i have this buggyboard here

i am short (5'3") and have a buggyboard attached to my Mamas & Papas pliko. I have it adjusted to the tightest setting so the buggyboard is in tight to the buggy, and then i have the handles on the tallest setting which does give enough space and is fairly easy to push. (i struggled, bum & back ache! until i made these adjustments).

i no longer use my phil & ted's, i find this configuration better and DD1 LOVES the buggyboard. I don't push her constantly - she walks mostly, but if i'm in a hurry, or she is being slow, or it is busy/crossing roads etc, she jumps on.

I have a Lascal buggy bopard and swear by it. It meant I did not have to buy a double buggy. I use it with a Maclaren Techno XT and it comes off really easily when I have to fold the buggy.

Changes your stride a bit which took getting used to but dd loves it.

Flynnie · 16/03/2008 16:57

Have one of the seat 2 go buggy boards....love it. you can take it off and put it back on in seconds

CarGirl · 16/03/2008 17:02

the M&P pliko & p3 have a built in buggy board step -only marketed as such in the rest of Europe! I agree the closer you have the board to the back of the buggy the better. I also put one on the back of a grace citisport and the whole thing folded up with it still attached in the back of the boot - fab!

TrinityfeelslikeahopelessRhino · 16/03/2008 17:02

I got a seat to go but dd2 screamed like she was having her leg cut off when ever I put her on it

amidaiwish · 16/03/2008 19:11

i tried using the "toddler step" on the M&P Pliko but it is very tight into the buggy (well it's on the frame iykwim) and very shallow, so DD1 really didn't take to it.

tassisssss · 16/03/2008 19:14

Nobiggy, will your 4 year old not be OK to walk? Or could you take backpack for when wee one if 4 year old needs to sit? Or take 2 strollers?

I did not enjoy using a BB and I put a lot of that down to the fact that ds was 3.5 at the time. Might be easier with a younger/lighter child.

NoBunny · 17/03/2008 00:03

She will be fine for most of the time, but we do tend to squeeze all we can out of our holidays, I'm expecting her to flake out at some point.

We're depending on trains and walking, so neither of them can snooze in the car at odd times.

I think I'm going to go for the Volo, because it's light and should be easy to tuck away on trains, and maybe the 4yo will be in it and dp can carry the little one. I can't because it does for my back. He seems able to manage.

Last chance to put me off the volo if anyone hates it!

I have a Lascal buggy board on a BabyJogger City stroller. Am 5'6" and it only shortens my stride marginally.
