Toddler and newborn

DD1 is 2 and has suspected ASD. Every sound my newborn makes my toddler screams at the top of her voice continuously. This carries on day and night. I’ve tried everything. I’ve also tried staying with my newborn downstairs on a night while my toddler is asleep upstairs and she can still hear my newborn cry etc and she just screams non stop. I’m desperate for some advice if anyone has any experience!!!

That must be so difficult for you all, and so exhausting. I don't have and experience and I'm sure you've thought of other things to try.. but at night time would white noise or something similar for your daughter help so she doesn't hear the baby? Or even ear defenders? Sorry not the most helpful, hopefully others have some suggestions.

It must be so tough. We have a huge family and lots of children with ASD. It's really difficult for any child at first and for an autistic child they get frustrated by specific things.

One of my nephews hated his sister's hair. She was the only girl. He always tried to pull it out. Now he is used to it and that does eventually happen. Your child will get used to it. It's hard anyway and you are doing an amazing job. so sorry, no specific advice. You know your children best, sometimes these things just ride out.
