Husband is sick what’s the chances me and baby won’t get it?

Husband has been struck down by a heavy cold which has now turned into a chesty cough. He started with a sore throat on Friday, it’s now Wednesday and I haven’t had any symptoms yet and 5 month old seems fine so far too. What’s the choices we will escape it?

He has been sleeping downstairs at night but that’s more to give us both a better sleep. Total isolation isn’t realistic with our house size.

I take quite a lot of supplements to try and strengthen up my immune system post labour and for the winter (vitamins D, multi vitamin, omega 3 etc). Really hoping to avoid is as it will be babies first Christmas. However I’ve made peace with what happens happens!!

To add baby is EBF so hoping that gives a bit of extra immunity

Extremely unlikely you both don't get it

I don't think it's inevitable just luck really 🤞🏻

I often don't get colds when my dh has them and vice versa. We had the winter vomiting bug a few years ago and my eldest got it, she was 4, me and dh but my 18 month old didn't get it 🤷🏻‍♀️ my eldest ended up in hospital, we all had it really bad.

Recently they got the bug again youngest had it first then eldest. Me and dh still didn't get it. I was the one cleaning up the vomit and wiping bums 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think it depends on your immune system. We don't all get sick when one person is sick in my house. Just recently, my husband and I had terrible colds and coughs that lasted for weeks but my toddler never got it. Hopefully you and the baby will avoid it.
