2 year old eating

At my wits end with my DS eating. He has just turned 2 and has went from a child that would eat almost anything to being so picky.

He used to eat the following but won’t now:
Weetabix, dry cereal (he’s DF and doesn’t like the taste of oat milk) pasta - dry or with sauce, cottage/shepherds pie, potatoes, curries, soup, rice, chicken, ham, fish, home made things in puff pastry, even sandwiches are rejected now.

All I can get him to eat is waffles, chips, pancakes, yogurts, biscuits, bananas (if I feed it to him). It seems to be all dry food he wants but if I give him ham or chicken etc he won’t eat this either. I’m also completely stumped for ideas of what to give him for lunch or dinner, I feel like he’s living on waffles. This week I’ve tried giving him food, ignoring him, taking it away and not giving an alternative but he just won’t eat. He cries when the foods put in front of him when it’s not one of the things he wants now.

Tried giving him cottage pie on Friday evening and he wouldn’t even try it. I managed to get a spoonful in, he chewed it, swallowed it then gagged and vomited everywhere?! 😫

It's so hard when they won't eat. What about crackers with cheese spread or peanut butter for lunch. If he seems to like dryer foods. Then add yogurt and fruit. Or maybe bread sticks and hummus. When eating improves you could also add ham or cheese cubes etc. My 3.5 year old has got better but still won't eat like a cottage pie where it's all mixed in but would eat for example chicken, Yorkshire pudding and veg but no gravy.

She will also eat sandwiches if I use the thins rather than bread x
