Play mat

Hi all, I'm a first time mum to DD. She is now 8 months old, pulling herself up on everything standing unsupported sitting and crawling. We currently have a foam play mat for her as we have hard flooring in our living room (our garden backs onto the living room) and the dog is in and out all muddy 🤦‍♀️. Anyway getting to the point, when did you all get rid of your play mats? She doesn't seem the slightest bit interested in it, but I want her to have an area to play in if that makes sense. Any advice welcome.

I have hard wood floors and got a large Totter and Tumble mat when my little one was about 5m old. It's the 'rug' in our living room. So comfy, even the grandparents are happy to get down on the floor to play! Aforementioned little one is now over 3y and baby sibling is enjoying it too. I do Pilates on its DH works out on it as well. It's an aesthetically pleasing family mat and we won't be getting rid of it for years yet!
