Xmas film recommendations for toddlers

Looking to watch a Xmas movie with my kids, aged 2 and 4. Any suggestions? I don’t want it too long or they’ll get bored!

Tried watching Robin Robin but my toddler found it scary- any suggestions for happy films?

Watched the snowman and that was great.

There's a Mickey Mouse Christmas movie, not sure of the name. Would be on Disney + if you have it.

The star and nativity

Thanks for these suggestions. We have already tried Robin Robin and it was too scary. Given this, are any of your other suggestions suitable do you think?

Rule out the muppets but the snowman is a classic.

Angela's Christmas 1 & 2 on Netflix. So lovely.

Disney+ has a few...
Mickys Christmas Carol
Muppets Christmas
Ice Age Christmas to name a few!

There is a lovely one on Netflix called Klaus that might be suitable.

Shaun the sheep Flight before Christmas on Netflix

We watched Arthur Christmas the year our twins were 3 and they LOVED it (so did we, 11years later I think it's still the best Christmas Eve film 😂)

Chichz · 15/12/2023 19:41

There's quite a few on the Iplayer at the moment, alongside the usual Julia Donaldson ones - a Shaun the Sheep one (possibly same as PP mentioned?), plus a couple of 70-80 minute Pixar movies. They tend to go off there after a while.

Lostthetastefordahlias · 15/12/2023 19:57

We just stick to the christmas programmes on iplayer rather than films mostly because mine are easily scared too - they are all at the top of the cbeebies section of iplayer at the moment. There is a v short film on there called mr bears christmas that’s cute. On Prime The Snowy Day is cosy and non scary, mine also like the winnie the pooh christmas film there is mention of heffalumps but not as scary as robin robin!

Arthur Christmas

The animated adaptation of Julia Donaldson’s Stick man on CBeebies is my 3 year olds favourite. We watch it daily. About 30 mins in length.

PurBal · 15/12/2023 21:02

DS2 loved the Christmas episode of Giant Jack. It’s 28 minutes I think.

He has also enjoyed the animated Grinch and Arthur Christmas. Shaun the Sheep also a hit. He didn’t like Robin Robin either but not sure that’s because it was scary.

Arthur Christmas

Even I enjoy it

Shaun the sheep Flight before Christmas on Netflix

Agree with this - it might not be the best Christmas film ever, but it's only 30 minutes, and my 2-year-old LOVES it.

DGHZ · 15/12/2023 21:06

There’s a mog one on on Christmas Eve that I thought my toddler would probably like. He watched the grinch and quite liked it, although he tunes in and out. We were going to let him watch home alone this weekend because he’ll probably laugh at it
