When did your child’s immune system get stronger?

My little girl is almost 1yo, and she starts nursery in March 5 mornings a week. Until I go back to work in February, we aren’t the sort of people who can stay inside all day, so we go to some kind of class or group Monday through to Friday.

Clearly being out so much and interacting with so many different children is causing the mayhem of illnesses I was told we would experience when my little one goes to nursery. I’m hoping that, as we’re now dealing with a new cold or cough every 3-4 weeks, we might not get hit quite so badly at nursery?

I guess my actual question is, when you started to notice regular illnesses, when that started to at the very least calm down just a little or your child was better able to handle it?

Im very tired, and nursing my 3rd cold in the past 2 months whilst also dealing with a whiny not 100% baby 🤣

I took my daughter to baby/toddler groups 3-4 times a week since she was 3 months old. We were also dealing with cold/caught etc, constantly.

She started the nursery at 12 months and oh my! She's got a hand&foot&mouth, an ear infection and a stomach bug in her first month of the nursery. (We also got the stomach bug and the H&F&M so we also couldn't go to work). Soon after she had other illnesses, some of them I wasn't even aware they existed. It started to calm down after 6 months, she will be 2 years old soon and she only has a mild cold now and then.

Maybe it was just our luck, but I think you should prepare for the worst. For us, the baby club illnesses were nothing compared to the nursery ones.
