Hello, I am new here.
My beautiful little girl (3 in April) knocked out her two front teeth yesterday morning 😭. One was knocked out the other looks like it could have been knocked upwards. Has this happend to any other little ones? I'm totally beating myself up, sad that her little smile isn't as it was and taken away in seconds too early (sounds dramatic I know!) and worried sick of implications of losing her teeth so early, speech delay, eating, knocking her confidence, read that second teeth now have issues coming in and can go crooked etc etc..We went to A&E as she had a bump to the head, they called the little people specialist about her teeth and we were advised to call the dentist first thing and get an emergency appointment to check and get an X-ray. A&E don't have equipment small enough. We have an appointment this afternoon. I'm just so upset 💜

When I only had my 2 front teeth and no others I fell over whilst pushing my pram with my mouth. They ended up being 90deg relative to where they should have been. The dentist managed to put them back into the appropriate position.
All seemed fine until 5 or 6 when my adult teeth came through and I have some minor chips on the top of my adult teeth due to the incident. No one notices unless I point it out to them.

DD knocked out one front tooth at that age. She's nearly 6 now, no adult tooth but she hasn't lost any other milk teeth yet so has no other adult teeth either.

It's had no impact on her at all. Speech is great, never caused any problems with eating. I won't recognise her once she has two front teeth again!

My 2.9 year old did this, this weekend. I’ve been in tears a lot of the day tbh as I feel heartbroken he’s not going to get another tooth for a lot of years.

@Abi0795
Hello there, I am so sorry that this has happened to your little one. I completely understand how you are feeling. We are 6 weeks on from our accident and it is starting to get easier now the focus and raw feelings of it have subsided. I was distraught for a good few weeks and still have moments. I was so upset that her little toddler smile wasn't as I knew it and I wouldn't see that again - that is the hardest bit. I am slowly getting used to no front teeth, the tooth that went up is now coming down again so we'll get used to it all over again. She hasn't been phased at all and I am sure your little one will be the same. Once you see they are actually fine and the raw feelings go a little it gets easier - it is part of their little journey and story x

I’m really shocked how badly it’s affected me, I’ve been crying for the majority of the day! I know it might be vain to think about appearance, but the way that he looks and smiles will change and it’s broken my heart. It’s just going to take some getting used to I suppose and once they’re older and the other kids start loosing teeth I guess it won’t look so bad, it’s just a long time x
