Best kids birthday party you've been to?

Thinking (slightly) ahead and planning a birthday party for a 7yr old for early next year. Within reason, money is no object (I don't mean I want to spend £££s on a party, that just seems unnecessary, but I don't need to be super careful about cost).

Personally, I HATE the whole class parties (too noisy, chaotic) and also HATE soft play type places as a parent. I've loved going to parties at zoos or small group parties - our child seems to have enjoyed all fairly equally tbf. I don't want to host at home.

So looking for inspiration, what is the best party you've been to as a parent and/or that your kids have enjoyed the best? Thanks!

Best ones we've done have been in our back garden which have been bouncy castle garden parties. Just lots of games and dancing and then a picnic on the grass.

Really easy to tidy up after and no worries about spillages.

Appreciate we have a big garden and enough room in the house to cope if it had rained and not everyone can do this.

DD (age 15) told me yesterday that here friends still say that she had the best parties!

We did a Harry potter one for her 11th birthday

I found a company online that hires out a set of props etc for a party.

I made the invite like the letter in the film and boight a harry potter wax seal kit.
I made the front door into the platform wall and the kids had to run through it to get in.
We then had diagon alley down the side of the house with different shops like quill pens and wands etc.
We then had potion class with a real experiment of elephants toothpaste and the party props camp with a smokey cauldron which added to the atmosphere. I cant remember all the games i did but i did pay her brother to dress up as a dementor!

we then made the dining room like the dining hall (the prop pack came with big banners) we made butter beer etc.

Going home we had a sweet shop and i made chocolate frogs and printed and folded the boxes they came in.

I’m sure many MNetters will despise this 😁 but the best was a Build A Bear party. One of the staff did games with them, I paid extra for someone in a massive rabbit costume who they all chased round the shop and hugged and then at the end all chose a bear and an outfit. Only six other children besides dd, made it clear there was no food but we all went for milkshakes/ice cream after. They absolutely loved it and dd at age 17 still says it was the best one.
