Nappies for flight?

Morning all, we are flying to Mexico next week to spend Christmas over there. DD has been potty trained just over 3 months now and is fine the majority of the time but still does have the odd accident when she can't get to a toilet quick enough or if she gets too distracted doing something. Off the top of my head the flight time is around 10hrs, I think she should have her night nappy on just in case of and accident as I would hate for someone else to sit in a wet seat. DH thinks it's not necessary and she will be fine. AIBU?

I have done lots of long haul travel with my DC, and always pop a nighttime nappy on - especially if it's a night flight.

Definitely a good idea - and means less stress for you both if she needs to go and you've got the seatbelt signs on!

How do you find it if they need a change as the toilets are tiny!

I have tried on loads of long haul flights with my little one.

Nappies - it is ok to change in the toilets. Just make sure you have a pouch with only essentials in it - wipes, nappy, cream, nappy bags etc so you can just take them to the toilet and no faffing with a bag.

After she was potty trained - we did a pull up on her - she never went it in it but we figured if she had an accident then it would be much easier to change than clothes.

I agree! She definitely will have an accident if she’s tired or will fall asleep

DD was terrified of the plane toilets and refused to wee on them. We had her in pullups just in case, it was a short flight so she just held on. But for long haul I’d definitely use them.

She was potty trained at just 2 but didn’t mind having pull ups just for the journey.

I'm just back from a short haul flight where they put the seat belt signs on a few times and nobody was able to get up to the toilet for 15-30minute stretches. For this scenario I'd imagine you'd want the security of a nappy or pull up if she can't wait.

We did short haul flight a few months into potty training and put her in a pull up for the travel day. On the way out she used the nappy as the toilets were so far away that by the time we got their she had already gone.
On the way back it was a small airport and she didn't use her nappy until we were waiting for the bus back to the car which was 10am until 8pm
