What age did you tell your kids how babies are made?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but curious to know when you told your children about the birds and the bees? My son is 7. He knows he was put in my tummy by a doctor (I had IVF) and knows the scar where he came out (c-section). But doesn't know the 'normal' way to make a baby/give birth. Thanks!

They're old
Enough to know as soon as they're old
Enough to ask

I think it depends what you actually mean to tell them about?

Dd knew from the first time she asked (probably around 3 or 4), that she came out of my vagina but that some ladies have c-sections. She also knew early on that ladies have eggs and men have the other 'seeds' needed to have a baby and that the lady and man make the baby together.

It was around the time she turned 9 that I actually explained sex to her - she asked how the 'men's seed' gets into the ladies tummy. At that point I explained, using the proper terminology like penis, vagina, sperm etc.
She found a bit disgusting but just shrugged and moved on to the next subject.

Only time she's brought it up since is when she hears them referring to sex in a song - even then she just asked if they were singing about the same thing I'd explained
