Daughter reads well at home but not at school?

Was just hoping to please ask for a little bit of advice on how I can help my daughter with her reading.
She started school and turned five in September, her reading is coming along great at home and she can confidently read the first set of books they have been working through…at home that is. Her teacher called me in on pick up to quickly let me know that it is just herself and one other student that have not moved on from these books because her teacher says she can not recognise the words confidently enough to move up just yet. However at home she reads through them quickly with no issues, recognising the phonics and then blending the sounds together to make each word.
I have tried speaking to her to ask if there is anything worrying her when she reads at school and she just gets a bit upset because she feels like all her friends are now reading different books but she doesn’t know why she can not read as well at school.
I am not overly concerned on how long it takes her to read as she is still so young and I do not want to put pressure on her as she does enjoy reading, it’s just I want to know if anyone has any tips on how to support her? TYIA!

Could it be that she is reading them for the first time with the teacher at school so they hear her struggle to decode, sound out and blend.
Then she does it again with you at home but it is now familiar and she might not even realise she has almost memorised some of it from doing it in school.
Try getting her to read different text as she wouldn't have memorised them and will definitely need to use her decoding and phonics skills . Oxford owl website has some free books and games that might help. Good luck, she will get there.

That is a good point and may very well be the case! Thank you, will take a look at that website, sounds good 👍🏼😄

Ask school if they can give you any phonics resources, or if they are running a phonics workshop for parents?
