Stand up baby walker

Want to get DD a stand up push along walker for Christmas as she'll be 9months.
We don't have a lot of space in our room so was looking for one that folded down when not in use.
Need your help 😂
Is it even a thing???
Open to any ideas!

They’re not recommended any more. So save your money, and space!

Quite a lot of the plastic ones fold up like this one

Assume that's the sort of walker you meant. You just push the yellow buttons in on the side.

The push along ones are fine @fourelementary .
@Mummy2823 the vtech one is always popular. You have to enjoy flashing lights and musical jingles though.

My daughter loved an old fashioned push along dog they had at our playgroup. Won't fold down though.

Awww yeah, they’re cute… but honestly I doubt they help at all with walking… what about a play cube? Can be stood at and walked around…

Needmorelego · 30/11/2023 21:19

@fourelementary of course they help with walking. My girl had one but she preferred to just play with the gadget part. So we got one of those wooden ones that come with bricks. She would load it up with toys and push it around.

@Mummy2823 the little fold up play pushchairs are good too - although they are usually quite light so there needs to be a fairly heavy doll/cuddly toy to balance it.

It's the ones where you put their legs through holes and they're held upright that are not recommended, due to the position isn't good for them, and also they can race around reaching things suddenly but can't always stop themselves, and no sense of danger.

Thanks everyone!!
I saw the vtech ones but they didn't seem like they'd go flat for storage.
Off shopping I go! 🤶🏻

We bought a vtech one. Our HV advised it. It's absolutely great and DS loves it!

It doesn't fold, but we have an old fashioned wooden one, the sort that comes with building blocks, and the shape means it's relatively easy to tuck away half under something (behind and half under the armchair here) if you want to, or use it for storage so it earns its space.

It's had great longevity – DDs are 4 and almost 2 now, and it's still played with regularly as a doll pram, shopping trolley, etc. It's also held up to both children riding in it!

My OH likes the wooden ones but I was worried about the bulkiness of it. But yeah if stuff can stack on top of it that's handy

Yeah, a suitable-sized box/bag/basket can definitely be stored on top of ours as part of tidying, although in practice it's usually a heap of cuddly toys in it here. We have the JoJo one, and I'm very impressed with how it's held up, although I'd try to get it on sale or secondhand if you can. I suppose it's good value for money when you compare it to buying a baby walker, toy trolley, and doll's pram separately, though.
