If you have a dog, do you let your toddler have raisins in the house?

So I’ve always been a bit paranoid about how poisonous raisins can be for dogs but especially now I have a very unpredictable (raisin-loving) toddler roaming around. So far we have let him have raisins in the kitchen with the door shut but now we have a baby it can be near impossible to follow his every move. It’s also really convenient that he probably eats half and drops half as he goes, scattering them everywhere 😑 So at night before I let the dog in the kitchen I have to do a thorogh search for raisins first. Tonight I did my search, let her in but she quickly spotted a half eaten packet sitting on a unit at the side that I’d missed 🙄 Think she managed to get one or two of them but I got the box in time. I’m now starting to think I’m just going to ban them in the house and only let him have them in the car or on days out. What do other people do?

Nope, not allowed at home at all

Allowed out of the house when not with dogs only, just not worth the risk

thats my approach anyway

@Shouldhavebutdidnt this is what I’m now thinking. It seems extreme but I think I’d literally have to put the multipack in the car to avoid him getting a hold of them out the cupboard as he does manage to get in one of the cupboards on his own. After tonight’s scare I’m now thinking it’s not worth the risk for the sake of him getting to eat some raisins

I think one made my dog very ill once but youngest is 7 now so knows but I get very anxious when I see someone eating them!
