Toddler randomly being sick

I have already visited the GP about this but he was very dismissive so maybe this is just normal?

my toddler often vomits, at least one a month. It used to be in the evenings when I laid him down for bed, but I’ve widened the gap between dinner time and bed time and this seems to have helped.

on Friday he was sat on my lap and just out of nowhere he threw up loads. He didn’t cry and barely noticed. Then over the weekend he ate as normal. But again this morning (Monday) he wasn’t fussed about eating his breakfast, and he’s just walked round the front room being sick, but he barely noticed it was happening. I comforted him loosely and just sat him in front of the tv (so the rest of the sick was in the same place!)

I’m trying not to make a big deal out of it for him, but At the same time I’m just wondering what could be causing it?

nappies have been fine and he’s only ever had one sickness bug, which was nothing like the above times as he was sick constantly and had awful nappies for 2 days

Food and symptom diary for the next few months.
Random infrequent vomiting can take a while to figure out information on the pattern to know what the cause is.
It could be reflux it isn't particularly common on toddlers but can happen. My daughter still has it at 3 and it comes in cycles particularly bad if she has had a grow spurt to maybe include that in your diary too.
It could be a dairy intolerance and only affect them when they have a build up effect so ok if they have a normal amount or the odd big amount but if they have multiple days of larger volumes they might then have a reaction.

Thanks for your reply that’s really interesting. He is going through a growth spurt as I’ve noticed he can now reach things off the kitchen sides! I do wonder if it’s reflux too.
I’m going to keep a diary of what he’s eating and if there is any particular triggers also but it’s so random, like yesterday he hadn’t even eaten anything yet and it happened
hes happy in himself so that’s a good thing for now x

I forgot to say that with delayed allergies and intolerance it can be 2-72h between eating the food and being symptomatic so look at the previous couple of days too.
