Introducing new partner to DC

Hi all,

Just wondering if someone can share some insights as I really don't want to mess this up.
DD is tuning 7 in a few months, and her father is not in the picture at all. He pays CM but has no interest in her. I've been friends with a man I met in work and he's known DD for more than half her life now. Over the last year things have changed between us and I am ready to take the dreaded step and make this official, but I'm not sure how she will take it. Obviously DD is my absolute priority and will always be number 1, but she can be a bit "jealous" at times.

DD really likes him and clings on to his hand wherever we go, and I know that he likes her too because he always includes her in any plans or ideas. But now DD obviously considers him her friend too and she really enjoys the attention she gets from both of us when we do stuff together. I'm a bit worried that it will upset her when she realises that the dynamic has changed because there have been moments when she got upset that he paid attention to someone else, for example another child who was around and talking to him.

To be honest I am not 100% how to do this yet because I really want to avoid confusing or worrying her that she won't be the most important person in my life. In effect not much would change, apart from her "uncle" spending more time with us and staying over night sometime in the future.

Maybe I am overcomplicating this in my own head, but does anyone have any advice on what not to do/ say because it had a neagtive effect on their child?

Thank you
