Worried about the world we live in

Okay so this is a random one but something that is really causing me anxiety.

I know this world has never been perfect, the news also tends to be negative also - always has been but that's the reality of the world we live in.

I just worry so much for the children growing up in it and what their future will look like.

People don't seem to have power, protests seem to be ignored and not covered in the media.
The government just self serve themselves.
All the wrong people seem to be in power.

Anyone else just feel overwhelmed? Have anxiety thinking about it all?

I was born in 1980, and during my childhood PIVs advising what to do in the event of a nuclear attack appeared in ad breaks, AIDS was a terrifying new virus killing seemingly at random, recessions, race riots, miners strikes … it wasn’t good.

I think there is something in the seven years feast, seven years famine from the Old Testament. It isn’t quite as straightforward as that of course but things get bad, worse and better.

There has never been an idyllic time to be alive really.

Yes you are absolutely correct.

I think since becoming a mum it just intensifies the worry.

The internet has provided a voice for many when the media will not, it's harder for the government to hide things.

OP I know what you mean. I offend will have to force a week or so where I avoid the news. I know there are awful things happening in the world. But sometimes I need a few days to not think about anything other than my routine. I find it helps. Also it gives me time to remind myself that I am lucky with my life.

I worry about it, but since I can't do anything about it I try to get on with my life.

It's not so much governments that are worrying, it's climate change, and being worried that we have gone too far to stop it.

There is so much we are already seeing - heat waves, flooding, forest fires, storms. I just hope that somebody really clever can come up with a solution.

Yes this is something that really worries me too.

The government doesn't seem to care, world leaders just care about money/profits.
It's false promise after false promise and COP Climate change meetings to make themselves appear to care to be making changes.

Then there are still climate change deniersHalloween Confused

It's the people who have power and can make the big changes that just won't, then us minions suffer the consequences the most.

I wish more 'celebrities' used their media platforms better.
