Baby group lunch

My lovely friends who I made through a baby group are coming over to mine for a little get together - we normally meet out but it's so cold!

One is a veggie - one isn't - there's only 3 of us in total and 3 babies - well one year old

I want to do a little lunch but maybe thinking picky pits as I have a Velcro baby! So don't want to be cooking/in kitchen

Ideas please!

Hummus and crudités
Pizza
Sandwiches

They are pricey full price but there is often something on offer but the higgiditty (sp?) Range are good they have a mix of meat, veggie and vegan

I had a velcro baby too and I would keep as much as possible to open packet and open the oven. Mixed with some healthier snacks

I would do a veg soup - manner butternut squash, or lentil. Fresh/part baked bread, cheese ham butter olives tomatoes and cake.
If you aren't fussed about pretending to make it your self I would get 3 cartons of 'Covent Garden' style soup - 2 veg, 1 meat and offer whatever they fancy. Just heat each portion in the microwave.

In a group that small, I wouldn’t expect a meat dish if there was one veggie. So some crisps and nuts for when they arrive, and then a veggie quiche with salad for lunch followed by dessert.

I'm happy doing meat/veg options that's not Ah issue
I think quickie, salad, new pots I'm
Going with. And chicken Satays etc on side Things I can heat up and leave on side rather than fussing with anything that needs cooking and needs to be eaten hot
Thanks all

Do 1 year olds avoid peanuts still? Or have guidelines changed? I'd not be providing satay anything.

jemimafuddleduck · 23/11/2023 08:23

To be honest when I had NCT friends over they got soup and bread, or sandwiches and crisps! Nothing fancy, and that's what they reciprocated with when I went there. Everyone seemed happy! Don't overthink it or put too much pressure on.

Nuts are fine. No idea when it changed but it predates my now 6YO so it must have been quite some years ago.

I’d be very happy with quiche, salad, satay sticks etc - sounds great OP!

Just the opposite all allergens including peanuts need to be given as soon as possible and definitely within the first 6 months of weaning if possible.
Whole nuts are a choking hazard though
