Christmas films, under 8s, firm believers.

Any recommendations for some Christmas films for my nearly 8 year old daughter - she loves The Grinch, Arthur Christmas, Home Alone - so a bit of variety. She still believes in Santa and would be nice to enjoy that a little longer so I don't want too much of a santa non-believer theme in the films, if poss!

Snowman/Snowman and Snowdog are brilliant but quite short.

Polar Express?

This one is not for your daughter but for you and your partner I highly recommend Click + Collect on Netflix, it’s fantastic!

Does she like Disney? I’m vaguely remembering that there was a Beauty and the Beast 2 film (???) that was set at Christmas.

Would Elf be too old? It’s also about not believing in Father Christmas but so is Arthur Christmas to a degree 🤔

Have you watched nativity?

Nativity films and the star

Klaus on Netflix is brilliant. My kids love it.

A Snowy Day on Prime is just gorgeous. Possibly pitched a bit younger. Very much about the Christmas spirit rather than Santa per se.

Groovester · 18/11/2023 08:32

Christmas chronicles

murphy8037 · 18/11/2023 08:45

Another vote for Nativity. The original though with Martin Freeman. Not the sequels!

KillswitchEngage · 18/11/2023 08:52

Arthur Christmas 🎅

LolaLaLaLou · 18/11/2023 08:57

Another vote for Christmas Chronicles. It actually touches on non-believers and is a really good watch for both adults and children.

Mommabearof8 · 18/11/2023 09:00

Elf, The Santa clause, The polar Express, Fred Claus etc. To a degree most films are about no Xmas spirit, not believing etc and then the tables are turned so to speak. My kids always loved the films I’ve mentioned but there are loads to choose from 😀

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 18/11/2023 09:03

Christmas chronicles or nativity

Snowman/Snowman and Snowdog are brilliant but quite short.

Polar Express?

Polar Express is quite focused on the non-believer thing though, with the bell that only believers can hear.

Nativity

Winnie the Pooh's A Very Merry Christmas

A Boy Called Christmas

Klaus

Santa Claus: the movie!
Very much a believer film...
Followed by the Muppets Christmas carol because it's Christmas Grin

Mrsjayy · 18/11/2023 09:07

the Santa Clause films oldies but they are great my dd still watches them at Christmas. Miracle on 34th Street Is lovely I like both versions. Arthur Christmas.

Mrsjayy · 18/11/2023 09:09

Muppets Christmas Carol how could I forget .

Kaz7779 · 18/11/2023 09:15

Santa Claus the movie the old one from 1988 ish or something like that it's a classic and still the best santa film

Flossypantsmummy · 18/11/2023 09:22

Elf, miracle on 34th street,

literalviolence · 18/11/2023 09:24

Get santa is a great film and would work well for believers.

Newuser75 · 18/11/2023 09:29

I think for ones without non believing maybe muppets Christmas carol, home alone, elf, the Santa clause.

MrsCLogan · 18/11/2023 09:49

If you have Disney+ I highly recommend Prep and Landing (short films), it’s animated but not babyish and very much like Arthur Christmas with a modern take on Elves delivering gifts.

The Santa Clause movies with Tim Allen are always my top favourites and very magical.

Mrsjayy · 18/11/2023 09:51

I hate Home Alone I think my Dcwatched it in secret because I always moan and tut when it was on! Kevin Mcallister is such an annoying kid I'm sure they left him on purpose 😂

Bookkeepermum · 18/11/2023 10:07

Anglea Christmas (1&2) on Netflix.
Klaus is good. And Scrooge

Dingdong90 · 18/11/2023 11:49

Highly recommend the christmas chronicles on netflix ,by far our favourite. Also santa claus the movie with Durley Moore and miracle on 34th street

saltnpepper2000 · 18/11/2023 12:17

The Snowman.

I never understood why Christmas films introduce the idea of FC not being real.

They used to put me on edge when watching with mine when they fully believed.

anon2134 · 18/11/2023 12:25

I love Arthur Christmas
