Does a child ‘have’ to sleep at the other parents house

My child is 6, and refusing to stay at the other parents house, she has her reasons, they are vague, but to her they are her reasons…
she still wants to see her dad.
he is going to ‘speak to someone’ so she has to stay!
im not stopping access, nor am I convincing her not to stay, it’s all off her own back.
where do I stand?! Will a solicitor or similar force her to sleep over when she doesn’t want to?!

A solicitor can’t no, but a judge can. And unless there is any safeguarding concerns then I think they would enforce it.

A decent parent wouldn’t make them. They’d wait until they felt ready to.

What are her reasons? My 6 year old has reasons she doesn’t want to go to school, clean her teeth, etc all things that are good for her and I’d regret not enforcing in the future

It could be her age. My stepson was like this for a few months around that age kept saying he didn't want to stay with us but we all worked together and encouraged him to stay and even a bit of bribery such as McDonald's and choosing what took to sleep in, picked out bedding he wanted and decorated a room for him. Might seem harsh but me, my husband and his mother refused to back down and after a few months and once he was used to the change it's now flipped the last several years and he won't go to his other home. He wants to be here all the time and comes and stays extra 2-3 nights a week. So things can get better

Her reasons are that she just wants to stay at home.
she wants to see him and spend time with him, she just doesn’t want to sleep over.
she has separation anxiety as a result of us splitting up, home is where she feels safe.

I should also add that she’s not overly fond of his girlfriend, who he introduced her to 5 days after we split up.

He really should just be working with her slowly on making his house feel like home. Decorating her room, playing games together, cooking meals, making sure she has toys and clothes of her own that stay at that house.
