No wash head lice treatment

Being a little paranoid but I know how these things spread. We've received a message today on the school class chat that there are cases of head lice in the nursery and reception unit at my child's school. I do check my child's hair and haven't noticed any yet but feel it is almost inevitable. She has long hair that is tied back every day.

However, my child is having real issues with hair washing at the moment. She gets upset about water going in her face or her ears. Like really upset. I've tried getting her to hold a towel over her face/ears, getting her to look up to the ceiling, using a shower head, letting her tip the water etc. What works at the moment is washing hair once a week and using a flannel to wipe water onto her head then washing with a low foam formula and then wiping it away. It takes ages.

So, my question is, is there any head lice treatment (that works) that doesn't require washing out with shampoo afterwards?

A nit comb is the most effective thing. The pharmacist told me it was much more effective than any head lice treatments which apparently don't effectively remove the eggs.
Just keep a close eye on her hair for any signs of lice or eggs, and comb through her hair whilst it's wet to make sure. Anything there will come out in the comb.

Yes I was going to say nit comb, used with conditioner, mix some tea tree oil in too, they hate it.

I also think straightening kills eggs too.

Cheap conditioner with silicone is good because it slows the nits down so they can't scurry away!

Nit comb with conditioner, the nits are immune to all the old chemical formulas we had as kids. I guess you could nit comb in front of the tv or a book, then dip her hair in the sink to rinse maybe?

My daughter likes having a towel to cover her face while we wash her hair, but she has to hold it herself and get it covering her. Showering is easier than bathing if she’d be up to try it.
