Diarrhoea for 14 days! (*TRIGGER: IMAGE ATTACHED)

Images attached- please help as I am worried sick!

My little girl is 18 weeks and has had watery poos the past two weeks.

She is BF and used only have bowel movements once or twice a week (usually the day after we give her a formula feed which was recommended to keep giving formula once or twice a week). However, two weeks ago my husband and I were sick. A few days later, out little girl started having extremely dirty nappies that could vary from her pooing water, mucous or frothy green liquid up to 8 times a day. Other times it could be yellow with large chunks of fat.

We brought her to the GP who doesn't seem concerned as she doesn't have a temperature, is drinking her bottles, is in good form and is having wet nappies. They also sent away a stool sample and it came back that it wasn't an infection.

Has this happened to anyone before? I haven't changed anything in my diet- only that she hasn't gotten any formula since her diarrhoea has started as GP reckons my antibodies in the breastmilk will help her!

OP those look like potential allergy poos, especially the mucus. We had a suspected cmpa (turned out it was shallow latch and oversupply) but one of the main things we were told to look for were green frothy poos and lots of mucus. I am definitely not an expert but could be worth exploring with the doctor? I know they don’t always start early and symptoms can present at any time. Could be worth a shot though

Could be a temporary lactose intolerance which can be common after a stomach upset. It should clear up by itself or you could try colief drops to break down the lactose in your breastmilk

Thanks so much, probably a stupid Q but the GP isn't concerned as her form is good and is taking her bottles. Has your little one experienced this and had good form all the time?

Is she gaining weight? And having good wet nappies then nothing to worry about.
Even though stool sample is negative doesn't mean she doesn't have an infection? Usually viral so will settle in time. Can take up to 14 days.

We have similar poos, the culprit for us is a shallow latch and very fast let down.

Unlikely to be lactose allergy if she's happy in herself after taking formula.

I should have clarified that I'm exclusively pumping, so I shouldn't have said BF. She gets breastmilk from a bottle 😅

I must get the GP to weigh her but yes, still has over 8 wet nappies a day and in great form! No clue how when she is pooing water 😭 thank you..as if you don't doubt yourself enough as a first time mother!

There is plenty of lactose in breastmilk. If you're giving it by bottle it would be easier for adding colief if you wanted to try it.
