1-2 transition

Hey guys,

i am due my second baby, a little girl late February. My DS will be 26 months come that time. My DS behaviour (whinging, hitting, sleep) has appeared to have gotten worse in the last few weeks, although I’m not sure if this really is the case or I’m just more tired and finding it harder at the moment. I’m so scared to have two, I know it’s going to be so hard but honestly how did you all find the 1-2 transition?

my son does co-sleep with me in the bed (not ideal I do know) and we are planning to try transition him very soon to his own room. Any ideas on how to do this? Is it crazy to try him in his own room first rather than the cot in our room? (He sees his cot as more of a play pen atm 😩)

I definitely have no issue co-sleeping with him I do love it but he will need his rest when DD arrives and I want him to have somewhere to sleep separately.

also very worried about him feeling replaced when baby comes. He is such a caring little boy and I do think and hope he will love baby, but just scared.

any advice would be appreciated xx

I'm in a similar position, currently co sleeping with 2yo and due with our second in May.

We are looking at a double floor bed for her room so there is the option for my husband to co sleep with her. She does currently do 1-5 hours in the cot but won't resettle in there after a certain time. I think she'll be much happier with a floor bed.
