Night time pants.

Hi All,

Just after some recommendations for night time pants....

So basically my 9 year old still wets the bed they have additional needs. (Been to the doctors about this.)

The issue I have is that 9 times out 10 I need to change their bed sheet daily.

I use disposable bed mats no judgement please and the mattress also has a topper that zips off so it can be washed. But try to use the disposable mats more as can't keep washing the topper and have dry in time during cold/wet months the winter. We don't have a tumble dryer or room for one.

My 9 year old wears night time pants to bed in age 8-12 either the Huggies version or Pampers Ninjamas. Whichever are on offer However both of these brands leak regularly!!! With maybe the odd night where they haven't leaked. I can count on 1 hand of how many dry nights I have had in the last 9 years.

We restrict drinking a hour or so before bedtime.

We also encourage regular toilet trips throughout the day.

We spent nearly 4 years doing whole wake them up and go to toilet. It didn't work might be due to their additional needs. They also were not happy with being woke up. There is medication but they are to young to take it yet as told by doctor. I think it's 11 they have to be. But I don't think they would cope with taking a tablet every day. They don't even like sweets or anything that doesn't look like the food they chose to eat.

Also my 9 years old will only drink water.

My 9 year old is a healthy weight for their age so not under or over.

The leaking disposable night time pants are doing my head in. Help!!!

Is anyone in or has been in a similar situation and can recommend any brand of night time pants that don't leak???

Please help a mum out 😅 I am at a loss🙁

It's just the sheer volume in my experience - the night time pants just can't cope. You could try washable incontinence pants AND nighttime pants?

We invested in 2 washable bed mats so one drying and 1 on the bed.

Like these: https://tinkaly.com/products/piddlepads

DS is now under specialist consultant age 11 - he's stopped wetting at night but still has irritable bladder / overactive bladder and we're on our 3rd medication to try to control it better

Have you asked for a referral to the continence clinic? They can lend you alarms or prescribe desmopressin

Aww thanks for the ideas. Much appreciated. 🙂

I’m on a vendetta against useless pull-ups after wasting fortunes on them over the years. They make them too underwear like to be practical. We tried the alarms and medicine but neither worked for us.
if you want to absolutely stop leaks and get rid of the plastic sheets and smelly bed for good then try going back to the nappy type. It worked for us and she stopped wetting completely within 1 case of slips. Our daughter was desperate and very emotional about her bed wetting and the need for a plastic sheet because of terrible Drynites that always leaked.
It’s impossible to find size comparisons online so when they arrived I put her last drynite and a medium adult slip together to show the difference. For girls the groin width is definitely is way too small. Urologists (3 to count) all know how bad these ripoff pull-ups are but it seems that their advertising and marketing is too powerful.
Hope this helps. If you are out of options like we were then maybe try them.
