Formula feeds

I'm actually quite embarrassed about asking this as it's my third baby but I EBF my other children for a long time so never needed to use formula..I'm currently EBF again (baby is 4 months) but I'll be honest I'm finding it hard with two other kids. Anyway, onto the subject at hand, I know that making bottles of formula is quite simple, but how do I go about storing them? I don't have the money for a perfect prep machine so that's not an option. Do I make the bottle as normal then wait until it's cooled down and then store it in the fridge and re-heat when needed? Thank u!

Boil a full kettle.

Make up all the bottles you need for 24h

line up all the (sterilised) bottles. Add however many scoops needed into each bottle, top with correct amount of water. Swirl bottle to mix. Lids on.

Store in back if fridge (not door). Keeps for 24h refrigerated.

When needed, remove from fridge and warm. I used to microwave then shake, which isn't recommended but is definitely easier than warming in a waterbath

It's important you cool them quickly, so put in an ice bath, before putting at the back of the fridge.

My baby has 4 bottles (feeds off me through the night). Me or partner prep 2 bottles at night, after she's has her second bottle, I then prep the remaining 2.

Baby drinks milk cold, right out of the fridge.

I ebf until 5 months, every feed was a struggle & she was latching worse and not putting on weight. I'd planned to ebf until 12 months, like with my nearly 2yr old.

You can get barely used prep machines on fb marketplace for £10-20 if that helps?

Thanks so much glad to know I had the right idea, I wasn't sure how long you could keep them for though so 24 hours is quite good!
