LO keeps being sick

My LO has just been sick. Prior to this, he threw up a little bit during playtime and his bedtime feed. He was fine this morning. After he was sick this evening, he has been fine. We gave him some water, a cuddle, read him a book and now he’s gone back to sleep.
We also checked his temp and the reading was absolutely fine.
He has a cough and cold and is quite phlegmy (has had this since the start of nursery) but I’m worried it might be something else due to the amount that he threw up this evening - it was pretty much his milk and his dinner.

His poo has been mushy for a while as well (again, pretty much since the start of nursery). Not sure if this is down to the phlegm.

He was fine the last couple of nights. 3 nights ago he threw up in his bed. This happened the night before that as well. Again, absolutely fine with no temp and went straight back to sleep after. I thought it might've been him eating too much as he had all his food at nursery and we topped him up with porridge when he came home then milk before bed so we decided to cut that out and he was fine the last couple of nights.

I really don't know what's going on and I find every night really worrying because I fear he might be sick and I'm just absolutely shattered.

Please, does anyone know why this might be? Or should I call 111? Feeling very intense about the whole situation.

Any chance he could have a milk allergy? If you cut this out for a few days and he was fine, I'd be inclined to get him tested

You'd know already if it was milk allergy. There's alot of colds and viruses going round at the moment. If you really get too worried call 111, at least you'd know what you should do. Hope he gets better soon 🙏

Sounds like he’s got a bit of a bug or something … when adults have these we tend to do a big 24hr clear out but with little ones I found my little boy would be fine for a few days and then still vomit almost unexpectedly.
But if you think about it, can you imagine drinking milk when you’ve been sick? It would just sit on your tummy. They also can’t tell us if they are still feeling queezy etc and we continue to feed them as that’s what we think we need to do

He doesn't have a milk allergy. He's been having dairy since 7/8 months and has been absolutely fine. Unless his body has decided to change - not sure if this is a thing?

He was absolutely fine at nursery. He threw up on Friday in the car (quite a lot!) but was fine after. Then last night happened - he woke up again around midnight and threw up the tiniest amount, probably cos his tummy was empty. Then woke up at 4:30am heaving and coughing but nothing came up. He doesn't have a temperature and seems fine in himself. So far, he has kept his breakfast and milk down. I'm just at a complete loss because this seems to happen quite a bit. It all started since he started nursery which I get - I know they will catch all sorts but didn't realise he would get so many sickness bugs... if it is a sickness bug.

Give 111 a call just to put your mind at rest, you'll probably be told to take him to gp, but at least you can get reassurance from medical perspective as I'm sure you won't be the only mom calling with these symptoms

I did wonder if it was a tummy bug. He was fine the last 2 weeks at nursery. Then he decided to throw up 2 nights in a row on tues and wed - we thought he might've been over full as we tipped him up with porridge so stopped and he was fine Thursday night. Friday he threw up a lot in the car and last night he threw up a lot as well. He woke up a few times coughing and heaving and threw up the tiniest amount then started heaving but nothing came up (probably cos he had empty stomach) he's kept his milk and breakfast down this morning and seems absolutely fine in himself. He doesn't have a temp either so I'm not sure what it could be.
I don't want to keep calling the doctors but I'm just so anxious about it all.
When he did go to the doctors, they checked him over and said his airways were fine so not asthma related or a chest infection. I'm just worried it could be something more sinister because he seems to be sick more often than not.

Lactose intolerance is a thing.

Normally someone else who is blood related in the family will have it as well.

My DD was fine having milk until about aged 3 and a half. At her CM there was another kid who was unable to have it from just under 2.

Sounds like a stomach bug.

If he stops playing that's when you need to get worried and contact someone.

No one in mine or my husband's family are lactose intolerant. I spoke to my doctor about this and she doesn't think it's dairy related. His poo has been mushy for quite some time now and I don't know whether it's down to him being phlegmy so swallowing more saliva and mucus or something else.

He has been playing absolutely fine today. He's currently playing with his favourite car toy. I just don't know how this has all just suddenly happened because he was fine up until Friday where he was throwing up once a day to about 3 times last night.

I'm so exhausted because I can't stop worrying about him. Would it be worth paying for a private doctor to get him assessed thoroughly?
