DS (2.4) out of nappies for three weeks in the day and has been dry at night too - should I go for it?

I've noticed that DS's nappies are bone dry in the morning since he began potty training three weeks ago. I can't believe it as DD1 (almost 5) still has to be lifted at night.

Do you think I should go for it and take off the night nappies, or is it too early for him?

Thanks

We have the reverse situation. DS is just 5 and still in nappies at night. Sometimes he soaks through to his pjs in the middle of the night.
DD was toilet trained age 2.5, she was dry during naps straight away and at night just a couple of weeks later.
I would go for it, provided you have some kind of mattress protector in place.

My feeling is to go for it, but do you think if I leave it for a few weeks just to make sure he might stop being dry as the nappy is there?

I've got one of those protectors on DD'a bed that is comfy like a sheet but really absorbent, so think I'll get another one of those.

I would go for it, perhaps get a mattresse protector.

DD1 was dry day and night with in a week.

Yes, do!!!

Am in the same situation with ds - he has had a dry nappy in the morning every day this week, apart from one day when I wasn't sure (it was warm so I couldn't tell if he'd done a small wee or it was his body heat!!)

He goes straight to do a wee as soon as he gets up. He's only been potty trained for a couple of weeks so I'm really pleased but not quite sure about getting rid of the night nappy yet.

So I will be interested in replies to the OP too. Is there any downside to waiting?

ds is 2.11 and out of nappies in day for 8 months. at nights a handful of accidents but he is in nappies half the week (ie when dh puts him to bed). i have decreed there will be no more nappies when this lot run out because it is silly, only one way to find out whether he's ready or not.

Thanks you! I'll try and get a protector tomorrow and see how it goes!

SaveScrabulous - DS is the same, does a massive wee very shortly after he gets up!

I'm worried that if I wait I might miss this opportunity and he'll become lazy realising that he has a nappy, and then it will become a struggle later.

I agree Fishie, only one way to find out! And if he's not ready I can always put the nappies back on
