ds..... 3 in April..... is finally showing an interest in his potty!!!!! He uses it quite well at home and i am now always leaving him nappy free... he does need constant reminding to use it and is normally to busy to ask for a wee (god forbid he should have to interrupt his play with boring things like toilet breaks!) but we maybe have one accident a day (have only been nappy free about a week).
He is in nursery one full day a week and pre school three afternoons a week, i always send him in a pull up and he always uses it even though i am reasonably confident that they are asking him frequently if he needs a wee...... Do you/ did you just send yours to nursery nappy free with a few pairs of trousers or should i continue with the pull ups?????

I put folded up terry nappies in the car seat and the buggy.

None of mine were at playschool until dry so can only offer a suggestion for the journey.

Sending him in pull ups to nursery will confuse him. Send him wearing pants and send plenty of spare clothes in a bag.

when dd started potty training in earnest we ditched all the nappies, and sent her to nursery in pants with several changes of clothes. the nursery were fine with this and encouraged it. To begin with there were fairly frequent accidents, but these did lessen over time and the nursery never worried about it. I think pullups when they're potty training can confuse the issue tbh.
On long car journeys though, (3 hrs), to begin with we stuck with the pullups as dd used to fall asleep. She rarely actually went in them though so after a while we binned those too and just stopped at services!

NAB's suggestion is good - think we did this too for the car seat/buggy, we used an old towel.

I have spare terries if anyone wants some.

Ok.... will nappy free from now on at nursery..... God the washing machine will not know what has hit it!!!
Terries on the car seat is a good idea, we still have some that ds used when he was younger.... will dig them out!

You can also buy 'Piddle Pads' which are absorbable on one side and plastic on the other to protect the car seat. Fine for short journeys where you are only likely to have one accident!
