Looking for ideas/ experiences of others... what do you do with art that your children bring home from nursery/ school? What about finished colouring books? I don't want to become a hoarder....😳

Honestly. Baring a few nice or unusual paintings or drawings then it gets recycled.

Use them to make birthday cards for family members!

Take photos and turn into a photo book.
Bin the colouring book though Blush

Oh it’s a nightmare isn’t it. My daughter comes home every day with between 2 and 5 colouring sheets. I look at it, smile nicely and tidy it out the way. I keep occasional pieces that I particularly like/she has tried particularly hard with/show definite progress or a new skill and the rest is put in the recycling once she’s in bed!!

old colouring books I’d hide for a bit then recycle once she hasn’t asked for them for a few weeks.

Not for everyone, but for a couple of years my kitchen was "wallpapered" in my DCs pictures. It made for a very jolly and colourful space. I loved it, but it had its day.

Particularly nice things go in a box. Otherwise I chuck them after a few days. You can always take photos of them and store them on your phone. Used colouring books definitely get chucked

I have scrapbooks and a folder with plastic sleeves. If it’s particularly nice artwork then I date it and pop in either scrapbook or folder. Doesn’t take much space and dd likes to get them out occasionally and look through.
Any sort of colouring or activity book was recycled - dd never noticed.
Keep artistic objects for a while then if you really like it take a pic, otherwise just tell your child that you need to make room for more ‘lovely art’ and chuck it.

Thanks for the ideas everyone. The grandparents got some gifts from the first tranche of nursery pictures, but that system can't last forever! I like the idea of delaying, and replacing

I keep Christmas cards, mothers day cards etc but everything else goes in the bin.

I usually leave the good things on display for a bit but I recently found a salt dough creature that had gone mouldy on my book case so might rethink that approach.
