Baby zen bumpy footpaths anxiety

Baby is 12 days old and we took her for a first pram walk the other day. I was worried by how bumpy the paths were -- could the bumps/shaking hurt her? My husband worried the pram's wheels don't absorb enough of the shock. We live in a historic city with uneven pavements and cobblestones.

No, it’s fine. Hopefully the cobbles managed to rock them to sleep.

@Torganer It definitely puts her to sleep. I was worried about the movements shaking her too much – read too much about shaken baby syndrome perhaps... Don't want her to get hurt.

Nah she’ll be fine. We have a babyzen (started with newborn pack and now in normal stroller). We live in an older town with cobbles etc. she’s been completely fine. We used a blanket below her to cushion her at first and now have a sheepskin liner - it helps keep them cosy too.

She’ll be fine. Bumps soothe them, it’s like being rocked.

You might want a more off-roady pram when she’s bigger: we’re in a historic, ruralish town and the babyzen cannot cope with the leaves, mud, cobbles anymore now DS is a beast. It’s a zippy city pram with stupidly designed wheels that clog up, and can’t manoeuvre over uneven park paths. I swear violently on a daily basis at the moment, while frantically searching eBay for an all-terrain number.

It won't hurt her at all, but as others say, while it's a fantastic pram for nipping around and travel, it isn't great on cobbles and off road. I don't even take mine round the park at this time of year as it can't cope with all the leaves. If you do lots of walking on rough surfaces and have space maybe you can find a spare pram for that when baby is bigger.

Nope, when not affect them in the slightest but will likely put them to sleep if they are already tired. Win/win.
