Dream feed

Any tips for weaning off the dream feed? I tried going cold turkey and it didn’t help. I thought not disturbing him (6 mths) would help his night sleep but it didn’t.

Is he bottle or breastfed? He may just not be ready to drop the feed. Lots of 6 month olds still need milk overnight.

Mine started rejecting it. I persisted trying for three nights and then gave it up

I still feed my daughter a dream feed and she is 13 months! She is a great sleeper so I am scared to stop. She was formula fed until 12 months, now on cows milk.

I would carry on until your baby rejects it and don't stress yourself out by trying to wean them off it. At 6 months they are still very little. A full tummy will help them sleep.

I didn't stop the dream feed till about 18 months.

Put smaller amounts each time and then stop to see what happens. Ours just stayed asleep from 10 weeks.

He’s bottle fed

Thanks everyone. I’ve been feeling guilty that I’m still giving the dream feed as I know it gives me a longer stretch but also apparently disturbs their sleep pattern? But it’s interesting to know that you can continue to dream feed till quite later on. Thank you
