Sleep, all things baby

Hi everyone! Thought I’d just pop this all in the same thread in hope for some wisdom! It’s been a tough week. I’ve got 6 month old
sleep - I used to dream feed him at 10pm each night but then decided to go cold turkey as I could tell I was simply interrupting his deep sleep. For first few days he slept all the way through!
then he would wake around 10.30pm, then 1-2am and then 6am. Roughly four hours between each wake up. Is this my fault?
the other night at the 1am I thought maybe you just need a bit of comfort but no all hell broke loose and he was hungry.
im also struggling to make him stay awake in the afternoon. His afternoon naps have gone awry and I’m having to keep him awake for like two hours so bed time has gone from 6.30-7 to 5.30-6! I don’t know what to do about this
any tips would be amazing please!

Hello, sounds like it could be a couple of things. With feeding, have you introduced solids? How much in total - milk and solids is baby getting during the day?
They can usually go through the night without a feed at 6 months assuming no medical issues. However they start to get quite hungry and making sure they are getting enough milk and solids during the day is important.
How are you responding during the night when baby wakes?
With naps, sounds like a scheduling issue. I would really recommend a Facebook sleep training group "evidence based sleep training" they have very knowledgeable people responding to scheduling issues and lots of useful info on how to get into good routines and get baby and parents a full nights sleep

How much does he weigh @SYA23, how much milk is he having in 24 hours and how often are you offering solids?

Brilliant thank you I’ve requested to join the group. He isn’t quite on solids yet, he’s tried a different puree each day which he hasn’t enjoyed lol! As for naps I just go by his cue rather than a strict schedule - so as soon as I’ve got an eye rub or yawn off we go.

He’s having around 5-6 bottles in 24 hours 200ml each. Not started solids properly yet and he weighs just under 9kg

At night when he wakes I give him a bottle and he guzzles it then I pop him back in the crib and he heads off to sleep. In terms of schedule so he may wake at 6am, I pop him back in the crib after feed then he usually wakes around 8.30am, naps were 10am, then 12.45 - 1.30/2 then there was one more around 4 then bed time was 6.30. But these seem to have gone out the window. The other day at 6am wake up I didn’t pop him back then he napped from 9 for like two hours. It was all fine then I feel like teething happened and it’s gone out the window OR somehow we’ve just lost track of our schedule and I can’t seem to get it back

I'd say that you're not offering enough milk in the day maybe? As he's not really on solids he needs between 150 and 200 ml per kilo per day.

He's 9 kilos so that's a minimum of 1350 up to 1800 mls.

You're currently offering up to 1200. It's not that much but I'd try adding another feed in during the day if you can and see if that settles him.
