Pocket money

I was just wondering how much pocket money everyone gives their children?

Is it monthly/weekly and do they have to do any chores to get it?

I have 2 DC, 8 and 13 and I'm not sure where to start

I go with 50p per year of their life plus the potential to earn more by doing chores.

DTs are 12 and get £30 / month and it is not linked to chores. Chores are expected as part of living in a family, I don't get paid to do chores!

My 8 and 10 year olds get £2 a week and that gets supplemented by £20 each from grandparents a few times per year. My 8 year old gets it in cash and has been hoarding it for almost a year now, my 10 year old just moved hers to HyperJar as she wanted a card. It’s not linked to chores.

Mine had theirs weekly when in Primary school and monthly in secondary school.
Not linked to jobs around the house - they were expected to chip in with them regardless.

DS16 walks the dog, £5 a week
DS15 washed up, £5 a week

Mine got £3 a week at primary
At secondary school they got the family allowance monthly and a travel card and phone paid

A pound a week per school year. DD in primary, so Y5 = £5 p/wk
