Nappy creams and pocket nappies....yes or no?

What effect does using nappy creams have on pocket nappies? Does it clog up the fleece/suedecloth inner and so stops absorbancy?

I've got a DD with problem akin and was told to use a barrier type nappy cream. the cream would only be put on her upper thighs, and not the nappy area itself. would doing this affect absorbancy?

Also, I have some 2nd hand fuzzis that i was given. One or two of them cause DDs clothes to feel clammy, especially after she has been commando crawling around, or has been in her high chair or car seat. Is there anything I can do to perk them up a bit, or do I just accept that they are past their best?

nappyzone, we love the drybees and green kids (LMdaisyBoo here). drybees would be better with cross over velcro though as they are a bit big in the waist, but i needed the large for my DDs thinder thighs!

As far as I can tell using a cream on her upper thighs shouldn't hinder the absorbancy of the nappy as it would only come into contact on a very small area (if any).
Also, most fleeces are made from polyester and so are not meant to be absorbant they just a barrier to stop poo from going onto the inner (like a liner), they let the fluid through but not the solid, it's the actual nappy that is the absorbant bit.

If you think the water resistance of the PUL has gone a bit you could try tumble drying them on hot / warm ([shock)].

Some people use this as a way of revitalising PUL wraps, not tried it myself for the purpose of curing leaking PUL but I have had a few 'accidents' where my Airflow wraps have ended up in a hot tumble for an hour and they were fine.

Or possibly ironing (that way you could keep a closer eye on how the PUL is reacting to the heat ) but I've not used pocket nappies to any great length yet (just got my first one the other day, am loving them though!).

rub some washimg up liquid on the ineer (shiny) side of the PUL and tumble on hot for 10-15 mins

oh, thanks everyone . I'll try the tumble drier option.

Sorry I've not responded to recent posts; the thread had dropped off my threads I'm on for some reason.

Sorry .
