Waking baby to eat

So this may be a dumb question but as a first time parent I’d rather ask than not.
My little one is almost 8 months old and along with regular milk feeds eats solids 3x a day.
He normal eats brekkie around 8.30 but we’ve recently started swimming lessons once a week at this time. I’ve heard solids are a no no before lessons so the plan was to feed him later (around 9.45 when we get home)
However, each week after swimming he just crashes out. Last week he slept for 2.5 hours which is unheard of for him!
Is he ok to be skipping breakfast? Should I wake him to eat when we get home?

Is there a reason you can’t give breakfast earlier? However no I wouldn’t worry; if he was hungry he wouldn’t fall asleep and as long as he’s having a milk feed in the morning that’s fine. As he gets older and starts dropping milk feeds I’d give him breakfast earlier before swimming

I guess not really. He wakes at 7 and by the time I’ve changed his nappy and he’s had his milk it’s normally 7.30ish.
His lesson starts at 8.45 and I think I read something somewhere about them not eating solids less than an hour before so I just don’t know if he’d be interested in food that soon after his milk. We usually leave it an hour or so.
He would definitely make it known if he were hungry though, you’re right about that 😂
