Son deliberately wetting himself for attention

Has anyone’s child deliberately wet at their preschool for attention?

Mine has been potty trained for 18 months and doesn’t have accidents at home or when out and about, but since going back to nursery after the summer, he is having an accident everyday.

From what nursery has told me, he seems to be doing it for attention which was what I thought straightaway. He really likes the lady that deals with outfit changes and it seems he wants the 1:1 attention from her so is wetting on purpose.

Has anyone else had this problem? What do I do to stop it?!

Is there anyway you could request someone else changes him? Someone he doesn’t like as much? Maybe that would stop him if he’s not getting what he wants.

Really in childcare they should be talking about "attention needs" rather than attention seeking. If it's really about attention, why does he feel the need?

Thanks; this is exactly what his key worker has suggested today, so I’m hoping this helps!

My daughter has a short spell of doing exactly this at nursery. She was 3 or possibly just 4 at the time. She really liked the lady that would get her changed. The nursery got another member of staff to take over. DD soon got bored.
