I've just bought this buggy

www.twoleftfeet.co.uk/acatalog/Maclaren_Quest_Mod_Black_Print_2007.html

I'm now after a buggy board!

Are any of you using one? What are the pros and cons? Does your toddler love or hate it? How much was it and from where?

Someone has offered me a Seat to Go Buggy Hitchhiker Navy
by LITAF for £15 - has anyone used one of these?

Thanks for any help!

I bought one for Ds (aged 3) when DD was born 6 months ago. I used it twice but DS didnt like it so i havent used it since. He said he was afraid of it...kids!!
Maybe if i persevered with it he would use it. I'm going to try again now cos the weather is getting better and hopefully we will be going for more walks.
I did find it difficult on uneven surfaces but that prob only takes a bit of getting used to too.

Its a buggy board i got not that other thingamgic!

A couple of my friends have had the Seat to Go and have not got on with it. IIRC I think they make you stand quite far back from the buggy while pushing.

I got my buggy board from Ebay and DD loved it felt very grown up on it. You just have to be careful at first going up and down kerbs etc!

We had the Litaf which DC can sit down on. It was great when they got too tired to stand.

bobblehat · 05/03/2008 22:16

I had a buggy board when ds2 arrived. It was ok, but it really does depend on how tall you are/how long your arms are. I'm fairly short (about 5'3) and found it gave me back ache. Dh, however, who is also a bit short but has arms slightly longer than a gorilla found it ok.

They are a pain though when toddler doesn't want to use it, cos you're kind of stuck with it

I'm 5ft 5ins and the Litaf was fine for me. A lot will depend on how tall you are.

Thanks, that had occurred to me about the litaf thing. Someone has now offerred me a proper Buggy Board for £30 so might go for that. DD will have the choice either BB or walk simple as. I want to get rid of the double now. She's 3.

My DD (2.8) loves her buggyboard. She has been using it for about 4 months.

She walks quite a bit but usually on the way home is tired and likes to hop on it. She particularly likes bumps and going up and down kerbs!

Hillbilly · 07/03/2008 09:18

Worth every penny and saved me buying a double buggy. BTW it's a Lascal.

JingleyJen · 07/03/2008 09:22

we have a Lascal 3G buggyboard.. brilliant love it.. we have it attached to a M&P MPX chassis.
Friend has the seat to go and doesn't use it because she knocks her ankles all the time.

Has anyone had difficulty with their buggy board?
I bought mine second hand from ebay. It came with a spare set of wheels which were barely used but the originals were completely ripped to pieces!! Didn't give it much thought at the time but I've just started using the board (with the new wheels) and they don't turn freely. I can't go backwards (you'd be surprised how often you need to!) and even turning left and right, when the wheels won't always swivel, is very difficult and VERY frustrating!!
Feel completely let down by the whole buggy board experience. I'd heard nothing but good things about them but wish I'd never bought the bloody thing now!!

I think the buggy board wrecked the alignment in my pram. Also did the same to a friend's maclaren. I would never use one again ... hard work to push and may destroy your buggy/pram. Plus it turned my 3yo dd who previously walked everywhere into a lazy layabout who only ever wanted to be pushed!
