ADHD support group for parents- any in London?

I have a DC with ADHD. It’s exhausting, but have found threads on here to be really supportive and helpful.

I’m looking for some kind of parent group/ network that discusses how to deal with ADHD kids and their foibles. Also keen to swap ideas on how to cope with the daily grind of parenting ADHD kids.

does anyone know of any in London area? ( central/ south is best for me)

Or any online groups people would recommend?

or anyone out there who is London based who would be interested in starting one with me?

Have you looked on the “SEN local offer” area on your council webpage? Often you can google the name of your borough with SEN local offer and it should be easy to find. There is usually an ADHD parent group in every borough that you can access free of charge, run by experienced professionals so you don’t need to worry about expensive grifters talking rubbish.

Nowadays, many of the groups do not require your child to have a formal diagnosis - they acknowledge that waiting lists are too long to have this as a requirement plus current NICE guidelines actually state that parent should have access to support/coaching/information before diagnostic appointments occur.

@BridgerGo thanks - I’ll look into it. I often find the local authority doesn’t really advertise this stuff very well.
