3 year old fall

My daughter had a pretty bad accident yesterday where she was walking along some wooden stepping stone things in a playground and she slipped off one and bashed her mouth off the next one pretty hard. She was bleeding and cried for a bit but she seemed okay overall. It looked very bad, the whole top of her mouth was swollen. The swelling has come down a good bit overnight but she has got yellow blisters where she cut it. Is there anything I should do with it?

It looks like quite a deep cut?

I'd call 111, you need to be careful with cuts around the mouth, it might need a stitch.

I wouldn't bother with a&e for that. I'd leave it and let it heal.

Sorry 111 I mean.

You wouldn't bother to make a phone call when your child might need medical attention? Why?

Rare for infection to set in within 24 hours so the blister is likely due to trauma. Can't see any open wound so unlikely to need stitches. Swelling is reducing rather than increasing. Child is fine in self. Not entirely sure what a medical professional would do at this point.

It's the cut on the second picture I would be concerned about needing a stitch if it's deep. But maybe I'm looking at the photo wrong.

If it is a deep cut the OP should call 111 for advice. They do like to give a stitch to injuries around the mouth because it's obviously an area where it's harder to heal with all the movement etc. Also if it heals incorrectly it can be problematic. Personal experience of a child needing GA and stitches in a very small, but deep cut right by his mouth 🤦
