Just wondering if I should contact the GP this morning (they open at 8.30)?

I popped DS down for his afternoon nap yesterday and his eye was fine. When I was giving him dinner around 5 I noticed his eye looked sore. He seems fine in himself (except the teething).

He is crawling and is definitely an explorer around the home. I was with him yesterday and didn't leave him, that's why I'm confused. He hasn't cried or indicated that it's giving him any bother. He may have scratched it but I don't know for sure.

I am a FTM and wondering if I should leave it a couple days or get him seen today just in case. Don't want to waste GP time if it'll heal in a few days

@BadHairBae Looks like he's just bumped/nudged/rubbed it a bit and a tiny blood vessel has burst. I wouldn't even think twice about it, definitely no trip to the GP!

Thankyou 🤗

NHS website says to call GP which is why I was unsure on what to do. Seemed excessive to take him in if it's not bothering him.

I'll see how it looks in a few days

I have a 10 month old, just had the exact same issue. Cleared up by itself after 5 days so I wouldn't worry

Sueretiredawhileago · 22/09/2023 11:07

It’s just a tiny burst blood vessel no?

Thanks everyone. I knew it was nothing just strange how it appeared 🙈

I'll update incase anyone searches for something similar online.

I spoke with GP and was asked to send a picture. GP said to keep an eye over 3-5 days. If it gets worse or becomes watery, sticky or infected then it's best to come in to GP for an in person look. He said it should clear within a couple weeks. If it doesn't I'll need to take him in.
