Toddler and TV

I have a toddler (2.5) and a 9 month old. Toddler watches a lot of TV when we are home and I’m on my own all day, but we do get out most days at least once (playgroups, shopping, parks etc.). I feel massive guilt about the tv but it’s sometimes the only thing I can use to get anything done. Anyone else doing the same? Most people I speak to IRL are very anti “screen time “

I have no limits on screen time for my 22 month DD
I think its fine for her to chill out with peppa pig or patchwork pals for an hour.
I make sure she has lots of other things going on in her day, reading books, Colouring, the park etc.
She's way ahead developmentally as well.
I also enjoy sitting with her watching one of her programmes and we talk about it, laugh at the 'funny' bits etc

What's a lot? I have the same age gap as you and my toddler also watches TV so just wondering what feels like too much!

I think it’s fine tbh. Ds has weeks of hardly watching any, then can watch several hours in one day if he’s feeling unwell or dh and I are catching up on work.
Hes 3 1/2. Didn’t really watch any the first 2 years but now he will sit for 30 mins I find it helpful. I know that generally we are out and about, he’s active.

As a child I was allowed unlimited tv. We had days and days on just back to back tv, tv in bedroom from about 3, watch kids films every night to fall asleep etc.. really extreme amount. It’s not made any difference to me as an adult. I very rarely watch tv now, and can go months without anything. I always had good grades and was an active child also. We don’t even have live tv now so it’s just Netflix really.

@Threesmycrowd toddler watches about 3 hours in total a day - not all in one go, and we talk about what she’s watching.

@Caspianberg same here. I even had the internet in my room from a very young age and spent most evenings with the TV on in my room whilst on the computer, or sitting downstairs watching TV.

Why was my comment deleted? Are research links allowed in all topics? (Loads of links)
